Work Description:
The twenty-four solar terms reflect the ancient Chinese tradition of the harmonious rela -tionship between heaven and humanity and the rhythm of life. The annual cycle embodies the philosophical principles of yin and yang and the ebb and flow of prosperity, further demonstrating the interconnectedness of heaven and humanity: that is, to follow the timing of nature, to follow the natural order. The creator attempts to embody these conclusions re -lated to the solar terms through a combination of illustration and animation, using concrete and metaphorical techniques to depict the scenes of each year’s natural progression and human life in harmony with nature.

The New Year painting is a visual representation from ancient China, symbolizing auspi -ciousness and joy. People express their hopes for a better life by displaying these paintings. Evolving from ancient customs surrounding the New Year, it has become a unique symbolic art form in Chinese folk culture. Inspired by this folk art, I merge ancient New Year paintings with modern life to imbue them with new meaning. While traditional New Year paintings depict scenes and lifestyles of ancient times, in our modern renditions, you'll find those figures from the past seamlessly integrated into contemporary settings. They're seen using smartphones, eating ice cream, pushing shopping carts, shedding tears while doing homework... This trans -formation suggests that New Year paintings shouldn't be confined to depicting ancient content alone. As a significant representative form of Chinese folk art, they should also radiate new vitality in the modern era.

The twenty-four solar terms, as a precious cultural heritage of Chinese civilization, are a knowledge system formed by ancient ancestors in response to agricultural seasons, observation of celestial phenomena, and understanding of climate and phenology changes. This system has inherited the idea of the unity of heaven and humanity and the spirituality of all things. Ancient people regarded the spirituality of nature as the hub of creation, manifested in the cycle of life's energy. In the animation, the "eyes" symbolize the spirit of nature, freely observing every corner of the world and merging with nature. By selecting eight solar terms from the twenty-four, the animation presents healing scenes combined with natural phenomena, exploring the relationship between humans and nature.

"Ensemble" is an interactive new media art installation featuring six linked screens, forming a virtual multi-dimensional field where The Ladies in the Tang Palace perform a captivating concert. By reacting to randomly triggered image contents, the installation con -veys them through programming to the physical device area, synchronizing the six-screen images. Amidst various crises, it explores how one can maintain calm and detachment in an unpredictable environment, drawing from the profound spiritual world of gratitude, joy, serenity, and detachment cherished by ancient Chinese people. Symbolizing the world's dilemma, the red chamber represents current crises, while the palace ladies play music calmly, unaffected by turmoil, overcoming challenges with tranquility. Through modular design, "Ensemble" offers open-ended possibilities for future applications, fostering a co -existence of virtual and real experiences transcending dimensional and sensory cognition. It aims to foster flexible communication and integration among culture, art, and technology, envisioning a harmonious "ensemble" for the future.

“The Circle of Life” is an interdisciplinary new media art installation inspired by the physio -logical dynamics of various life forms in nature. Through the fusion of soft pneumatic robot -ics and electrocardiogram sensing, it bridges the gap between organic and inorganic life. Participants interact by placing their hands on electrodes, syncing their heartbeat with a soft inorganic “life form” inside the device, inducing a sense of resonance and tranquility. This rhythmic synchronization with nature’s rhythm promotes deep relaxation. While silicon-based life forms remain speculative in science, this work serves as an exploration into new life forms and their potential manifestations.

Work Description:
In this experimental design, I aim to metaphorize the shifts in the 24 solar terms of the Chinese lunar calendar as an industrial system. Utilizing CG animation in three-dimensional software, I'll showcase a metallic texture and orderly motion. Within the celestial equator composed of 36 divisions, each 10 degrees forming a division, dodecahedrons represent-ing 12 months are enclosed by 12-hour and minute wheels, forming a solar term device.The polishing and carving of the disc by the factory symbolize the gestation of the celestial cycle. The dark circular core, symbolizing mysterious water, represents the origin of the solar terms. The golden core resembling wheat fields symbolizes the autumn equinox, while the melting snow-shaped circular ring represents light snow, and the arrangement of light blue spheres into a circle symbolizes rainwater. These temporal systems are visualized as factories producing solar terms, collectively named "Heavenly Work".

Exploring Moutai’s history, craftsmanship, and mythology, it blends traditional art with modern technology to offer a multi-sensory jour -ney. Winner of the 2023 National Moutai Cultural Center Jury Award, the space merges sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch, creating an urban oasis where technology and art converge. Meanwhile, installations like the Wine Aroma Visualization Dynamic Interactive Device and the Online Toasting Mechanical Image Interactive Device engage visitors in experiencing Moutai’s aroma and history in captivating ways, fostering a deeper apprecia -tion for Moutai’s rich heritage and cultural significance.
